The early clinical recognition avoids invasive procedures. Hyperleukocytosis/ leukemoid reactions are hematologic reactional responses that may result. The most frequently involved agents are Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Microsporum gypseu.
