| dc.description.abstract | RESUMO O ecocardiograma fetal permite o diagnóstico pré-natal da maioria das cardiopatias congénitas. A desproporção ventricular, com predomínio patológico do ventrículo direito sobre o ventrículo esquerdo, é um achado diagnóstico importante, que, não sendo sempre sinal de doença, pode estar associado a cardiopatia congénita, nomeadamente a situações de obstáculo à entrada ou à saída do ventrículo esquerdo. Após o nascimento põe-se, muitas vezes, a dúvida da capacidade de recuperação do ventrículo esquerdo e a decisão terapêutica nem sempre é consensual.ABSTRACT Sonographic examination of fetal heart has proved to be capable of detecting most major congenital heart defects. Disparity of ventricular size, with the left ventricle being relatively smaller, is an important clue that suggests the presence of congenital heart disease, such as inlet and outlet obstruction of left ventricle; but disproportion does not always mean heart disease. After birth, the surgical therapy is not always consensual; there is often a serious question as to whether the left ventricle is capable of maintaining an adequate systemic output. | por |
