RESUMO
As queixas somáticas são frequentemente
associadas a sintomatologia psiquiátrica
na população adolescente que
frequenta a consulta de Psiquiatria da
Infância e Adolescência.
Objectivos: Estudar a sintomatologia
somática num grupo de adolescentes
que frequentam a consulta de Psiquiatria
da Infância e Adolescência e avaliar a
associação com a psicopatologia o diagnóstico
psiquiátrico.
Métodos: Entrevista diagnóstica
e aplicação dos questionários Somatic
Symptoms Inventory (SSI) e ao Strengths
and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)
a um grupo de 30 adolescentes da consulta
de Psiquiatria da Adolescência.
Na análise de dados foi utilizada a
versão 14 do SPSS.
Resultados: O estudo incluiu 30
adolescentes. Os diagnósticos psiquiátricos
mais frequentes foram as Perturbações
Alimentares e Depressivas. Os
autores encontraram uma associação
estatisticamente significativa entre a
pontuação obtida no SSI e o sexo feminino
sintomas assinalados.
Conclusões: A associação entre
sintomas somáticos e alguns sintomas
psicopatológicos é significativa. As raparigas
tendem a apresentar mais frequentemente
sintomatologia somática. Os
problemas emocionais detectados pelo
SDQ estão mais fortemente associados
com a existência de sintomas somáticos
do que os outros parâmetros avaliados
com esse instrumento.
ABSTRACT Somatic complaints are frequently associated with psychiatric symptoms in our adolescent outpatients clinic. Objective: To analyse the somatic symptoms and the association with psychopathology and psychiatric diagnosis in a group of adolescents attending an Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. Methods: Clinical diagnostic interview and aplication of the Somatic Symptoms Inventory and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire. The SPSS statistic package 14.0 was used. Results: We interviewed 30 adolescents. The most frequent diagnosis was depressive and eating disorders. An association was significant for female sex and SSI score. A statistical significant correlation was found for SDQ score and the number of somatic symptoms. Also a significant correlation for emotional symptoms sub-scale score of SDQ and SSI total score and the number of symptoms selected. Conclusions: The association of somatic symptoms with some psychopathological symptoms is significant. Girls tend to be more affected. Emotional problems detected with SDQ are more strongly associated with somatic symptoms than other sub-scales.
