| dc.description.abstract | A Síndrome Cri du Chat (SCDC) é uma doença genética rara, com manifestações fenotípicas características. Os autores apresentam o caso de um recém-nascido, sexo masculino, nascido por cesariana às 38 semanas por restrição de crescimento intra-uterino (RCIU). Ao exame objectivo apresentava: dois apêndices pré-auriculares à esquerda, orelhas mal orladas, narinas antevertidas, microretrognatismo, prega palmar à esquerda, hálux curto, inserção baixa do 5º dedo de ambos os pés, sopro cardíaco e choro gritado. O ecocardiograma efectuado evidenciou tetralogia de Fallot. O cariótipo revelou 46, XY, del(5)(p14) (SCDC). Salienta-se a importância do reconhecimento desta entidade para melhor intervenção terapêutica. ABSTRACT Cri du Chat Syndrome (CDCS) is a rare genetic disease, with clear phenotypic manifestations. We report a male newborn, born at 38 weeks by cesarian due to intrauterine growth restriction. He presented two left preauricular tags, ears malformations, anteverted nostrils, microretrognathia, left single transverse palmar crease, proximal placed halluces, low-set fifth toe, systolic murmur and a typical cry. A tetralogy of Fallot was diagnosed. Cytogenetic analysis showed 46, XY, del(5) (p14) (CDCS). If early recognized, a better therapeutic intervention can be established. | por |
