| dc.description.abstract | RESUMO O trabalho com crianças ou adolescentes levanta dificuldades acrescidas dado que, muitas vezes, estes não possuem o discernimento necessário para definirem e assumirem as decisões no sentido do seu melhor interesse. Compete por isso ao profissional, em conjunto com a família, definir as linhas de acção no trabalho com as pessoas desta faixa etária, envolvendo-as nas tomadas de decisão. Contudo, é da relação entre o melhor interesse da criança ou adolescente e do desejo da família que surgem os dilemas éticos mais complexos. Nessa altura o profissional deve estar bem consciente das prioridades na relação terapêutica, e estar atento aos problemas relacionados com a obtenção do consentimento informado e com a confidencialidade. ABSTRACT Working with children and adolescents often raises considerable difficulties as these groups do not possess the necessary ability to accept and act upon decisions made in their best interest. Consequently, the professional, in conjunction with the family, defines the required actions for the people in these age groups, and involves them in subsequent decisions. Nevertheless, it is the relationship between the best interest of the child or adolescent and the wishes of the family that generates the most complex ethical dilemmas. In this instance the professional must be well aware of the priorities in the therapeutic relationship and those in obtaining envolved informed consent, where respecting confidentiality. | por |
