- Caso radiológico: bloco vertebralPublication . Macedo, F.We present a case of a 15-year-old boy in whom an x-ray of the vertebral column was performed to investigate dorsal hipercyphosis. The exam showed partial block vertebrae in D8-D9. Block vertebrae may be congenital or acquired, partial or complete. Most of the times it is an incidental x-ray finding.
- Caso radiológico: costela cervicalPublication . Macedo, F.We present a case of a 17-year-old adolescent with a painless hard palpable mass in the left supraclavicular fossa. Thoracic x-ray revealed a left cervical rib. A normal variant of the ribs must be considered in the differential diagnosis of a supraclavicular mass. In most cases x-ray is sufficient for the diagnosis.
- Caso radiológico: Displasia broncopulmonarPublication . Macedo, F.
- Caso radiológico: Duplicação pielo-ureteral esquerda com refluxo para o pielonPublication . Macedo, F.ABSTRACT We present a case of a 15 month old female in whom a voiding cystourethrography (VCU) was performed following a febrile urinary tract infection. The exam showed a duplex left kidney with vesicouretral reflux (VUR) to the lower moiety. VCU is the most common method for initial diagnosis of VUR and reflux to the lower moiety of a duplex kidney has a typical configuration.
- Caso radiológico: escoliose congénita por anomalias da formação vertebralPublication . Macedo, F.ABSTRACT We present a case of a two month old infant with clinical suspicion of congenital torticollis because of lateral flexion of the head and neck since birth. There was no response to physiotherapy and the neck ultrasound was normal. An x-ray of the cervical and dorsal spine showed congenital scoliosis with failure of formation in certain vertebras. The diagnosis of congenital scoliosis must be considered in cases of abnormal tilting of the head and neck.
- Caso radiológico: eventração diafragmáticaPublication . Macedo, F.
- Caso radiológico: hemossiderose pulmonar ideopáticaPublication . Nascimento, J.; Morais, L.; Macedo, F.ABSTRACT We present a case of a four year-old child with a second episode of iron deficiency anaemia. Following fever, cough and hemoptysis a chest X-ray and chest CT were performed. Bilateral and patchy areas of ground glass and consolidation were noted in the setting of intrapulmonary hemorrhage. The final diagnosis was idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis.
- Caso radiológico: lise ístmica (espondilolise)Publication . Macedo, F.We present a case of an 11 year old girl in whom an x-ray of the vertebral column was performed to investigate back pain. Spine x-ray showed spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis at L5-S1. Spondylolylis is one of the most common causes of back pain in older children and adolescents. The diagnosis is usually made by x-ray and/or CT.
- Caso radiológico: Lobo da Veia ÁzigosPublication . Freitas, A.C.; Barbosa, T.; Macedo, F.We present a case of a 6-year-old child in whom a chest x-ray is performed for a respiratory infection. An inverted comma opacity was seen in the right upper lobe, typical of an azygos fissure. This is one of the numerous anatomic variants of the azygos vein.
- Caso radiológico: onfalocelo contendo o fígadoPublication . Macedo, F.
